Steps You Can Take
Steps you can take to ensure better vision in your eyes or a family members eyes.
For Children
All children should have their eyes examined prior to starting school. Having their eyes check before school can be beneficial in determining if the eyes are developing normally. Eye conditions that are caught at an early stage can often be corrected.
For Teenagers
Teenagers are often very self-conscious when it comes to wearing glasses but it is important to have their eyes check. Teens who are going to be driving should make sure their eyes are in good condition or have the corrective lenses necessary for proper vision.
For Adults
Adults between the ages 18 to 40, who wear contact lenses or eyeglasses should have yearly eye exams to make sure their prescription up-to-date. Individuals with healthy eyes should have an eye exam every two years to make sure your eyes are in good health. If you are experiencing any trouble seeing then you should make an appointment with your eye doctor.
When you reach age 40, your eyes are at a greater risk of developing an age-related eye disease. Between the ages of 40 to 60, should have eye examines every two year or more often if you have a history of eye diseases in your family.
