Are You A Candidate?
Why The LASIK Consultation And Exam Are Important
Several factors such as life-style, age, general physical health can play a part in determining if you are a proper candidate for LASIK, but thickness of cornea is the single most important consideration and this can only be determined by a full LASIK examination. This exam should include multiple scans of your eye to map your exact vision characteristics. Blue Laser Group provides this as a free service and the entire process takes about 60 minutes.
The Health of Your Eyes
No two eyes are the same. The thickness of your cornea, the health of your eye, the amount of refractive error, and the effects of aging all play a part in determining whether your eyes are well suited for LASIK. You can’t guess at these things and neither can the doctor - you both have to take the time to find out for sure, and it’s time very well invested.
On average, an experienced and conscientious LASIK surgeon like Dr. Blue will reject up to 20% of applicants due to general eye health or the condition of their corneas, so he won’t be pressuring you into a hasty or unwise decision. The purpose of the LASIK Evaluation is to find out IF you’re a good candidate. Then it’s up to you to decide what your next step should be. If you are not a good LASIK candidate Dr. Blue can provide you with other vision options.
